What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant position at Granite State Manufacturing?
POSITION SUMMARY
Issues, receives, and stores hand tools, machine tools, materials, and equipment. Maintains accurate inventory and requisitions stock to replace inventory. Creates pre-kits for upcoming jobs on production machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of equipment issued and returned.
- Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
- Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
- Pre-kits tools for upcoming jobs on CNC machines
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment.
- Requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
- Inspects and measures tools for defects and wear. Regrinds or replaces tools as necessary.
- Marks and identifies tools and equipment. Maintains a record of tool and equipment
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and workers, and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
- Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months of related experience and/or training.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically word and excel, Windows based computer programs, and ERP/MRP based company-wide sales order administrative systems.
- Ability to measure performance to goals and standards. An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. Ability to communicate effectively.
