What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver (Independent Contractor) position at Granite State Shuttle Service?
Granit State Shuttle is looking for an Independent Contractor in the West Lebanon NH, Allenstown NH and Dover NH areas with some routes available in Maine and Rhode Island. Looking for IC's with with SUV, Cargo Vans, Sprinter Vans and 16' and 26' box trucks for daily routes. IF you have another vehicle than what's listed please inquire, we probably have a route! Must be able to make it to one of the hubs for an in person interview after the initial screening call.
We have routes for contract that offer daily routed work that is consistent and reliable. Our routes dispatch daily with a 5am - 6am start time, sometimes later and some with flexible hours - depending on route and run Monday - Friday. Some weekend routes available.
Our requirements to contract are as follows:
Must be 21 years old
Must have a valid Driver's License and vehicle registration
Must have 100/300 limited liability insurance
Must meet MVR, Background & drug screen criteria

Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care of all products.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks for efficient loading and unloading processes.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in moving and delivering goods, with a strong understanding of logistics.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients during deliveries.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Experience with courier services is beneficial but not mandatory.
