Summary
Oversees the kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation, service, and safety of meals for residents. Supervises team members to ensure compliance with State and Local regulations regarding safe food handling, kitchen cleanliness, and food inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Requires current Serv Safe Certification (Food handler certificate)
- Good personal hygiene and well-kept appearance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- If a recovering person, a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety and active participation in a program of recovery
- Previous professional experience in food service or kitchen setting
- Bilingual candidate, preferred
Responsibilities:
- Supervise food preparation and service to ensure it meets health and safety standards
- Ensure the team is following all food safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness
- Oversee inventory management and order food supplies based on menu needs and current stock
- Manage the daily temperature checks for refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers, ensuring proper logs are kept
- Ensure food is prepared according to diet orders and portion control
- Train and guide kitchen assistants and other team members in food preparation and safety protocols
- Ensure the facility stays within food budget constraints
- Perform other supervisory duties as needed

- Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen management principles
- Ability to follow and stay within food budget
- Ability to follow menu, recipes, portion control, and diet orders
- Ability to coordinate between departments and ensure smooth operations
