Daycare Cook
About Us:
Granny & Dot's is a loving, Christian faith-based daycare focused on providing a nurturing environment for children. We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Daycare Cook to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring that the children receive healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals while contributing to the positive and supportive atmosphere of our school.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for children in accordance with food program guidelines and nutritional standards
- Ensure meals are age-appropriate, well-balanced, and allergen-friendly when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by following all health and safety standards
- Follow food safety regulations, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation of food
- Monitor food inventory and notify management of necessary restocking
- Provide portion control for each child according to the food program’s guidelines
- Assist with meal service during mealtimes, ensuring children are well-fed and safe
- Work closely with daycare staff to accommodate any dietary restrictions or special requests
- Model kindness, patience, and compassion in all interactions with children and staff
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings to continue improving skills and knowledge
- Completion of daily and monthly CACFP paperwork
- Grocery Ordering while maintaining the weekly/monthly budget
Qualifications:
- CACFP Food program experience is required (previous experience cooking in a daycare or educational setting preferred)
- Dependable, consistent, and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Kind, patient, and compassionate nature, with a passion for working with children
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to food program requirements
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent (certification in food safety preferred)
- Food Handler's Permit

Hours: 6:15 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
