General Description
We are seeking a skilled A Computer Technician Instructor to join our team. The candidate will have a strong background in IT and education, guiding participants in developing the technical expertise required to become successful computer technicians.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Develop and enhance curriculum materials, lesson plans, and hands-on training activities aligned with industry standards and participants' learning needs.
- Instructional Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons covering computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
- Hands-on Training: Lead practical training sessions, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience assembling, repairing, and maintaining computer systems.
- Technical Skills: Teach participants how to diagnose hardware and software issues, install operating systems, configure networks, and provide technical support.
- Problem Solving: Develop critical thinking skills in participants, helping them analyze technical problems, identify solutions, and implement effective troubleshooting strategies.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments, quizzes, and practical exams to assess participants' technical knowledge and skills, offering constructive feedback and monitoring progress.
- Individualized Support: Provide personalized guidance and support to participants, addressing their unique learning needs and career aspirations.
- Classroom Management: Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and adherence to industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, support services, and IT industry partners to facilitate internships, job placements, and exposure to real-world IT environments.
Qualifications
- A certification or higher (e.g., CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security ) is required.
- Minimum of three years of experience working as a computer technician, IT support specialist, or in a related IT role.
- Experience in teaching IT topics to students or professionals, preferably in a vocational or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking principles, and IT troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passion for guiding young adults in their IT career journey and keeping up with the latest industry trends.
- Familiarity with educational technology and willingness to integrate it into teaching practices.
Salary: $66,000 - $70,000 Annually
