Position Summary
Under limited supervision this position analyzes systems data and generates work orders, Metering Alarms and Events, reviews any Business Intelligence dashboards related to system data for anomalies, works closely with meterman to locate meters that have been installed without locations and updates those locations in the District’s systems. Results of those completed work orders will require collaboration with GIS analysts to update our GIS system. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Utilities’ corporate objectives by executing an analysis of our metering and distribution system data to assist with the improvement and maintenance of our Electric Grid and various data systems.

- Perform analysis of system data.
- Perform analysis of field investigations.
- Collaborate with GIS team for updates resulting from system analysis or field investigations.
- Monitors, manages and creates work orders from system analysis or field investigations.
- Monitors and manages system alarm and events.
- Collaborates with Engineers and craft of what they are seeing in the data.
- Manually corrects and updates information within data systems resulting from integrations related issues between systems.
- Leverages system data to generate and coordinate work to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer power quality issues.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Engage in larger department transformation initiatives to improve quality and professionalism of work.
- Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan and Grant PUD / IBEW Local 77 Code of Excellence. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.
- Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies and procedures.
- May operate a District Vehicle.
- Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:
- Following all safety policies and procedures.
- Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
- Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor; and
- Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance
- Associate degree in Information Systems or Computer Science OR 1 additional year of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 year experience in Information Systems or Computer Science.
- A valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
- 3 years’ experience in Information Systems or Computer Science.
- Experience using data from operational systems to drive maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of Advance Metering Infrastructure or related systems.
- Familiarity with IEEE 519 and ANSI C84.1.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and optimization techniques.
- Basic understanding of Electrical Theory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge of utility assets used to mitigate power quality issues.
- Knowledge of business, operations, and engineering within an electrical utility context.
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI or other reporting, analytics, and visualization technologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
