What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Auditor position at Grant County?
Grant County is accepting applications and/or resumes for a full-time Deputy Auditor. The successful applicant must have a two-year accounting degree or experience in accounting practices. Responsibilities will include accounts payable processing, budgeting, working with real estate programs, tax billing, abatements, data entry of levies and preparing levy reports, assisting with elections, passport processing and any other duties as assigned. This position works closely with the Auditor to ensure government accounting policies and internal control procedures follow legislative audit practices.
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of office practices. Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Must be organized, detailed oriented, self-starter, follow instructions and be a team member. Ability to complete tasks accurately and on time with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and keyboarding skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
This position will qualify for the county’s benefit package. Starting wage is $21.95 with an increase at 6 months and 1 year.
