This position serves as support to the Fairgrounds Director and provides administrative and customer service support functions for the Fair and its operations. The position is temporary/seasonal and could potentially work longer hours during the Fair.
The Office Assistant will perform administrative functions, reception and customer service needed to contribute to the effective operation and of the Grant County Fairgrounds and its many events throughout the season.

Position performs administrative support services such as: word processing and editing of correspondence, memos and reports; provides customer service, including providing substantial information to the public, vendors, contractors, fair participants, such as 4-H and livestock association leaders, including assistance to Board members; schedules appointments; registers participants in events and conferences; sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail; records fair exhibits; and assists with contract preparation.

Incumbents are required to have demonstrated substantial knowledge and abilities in these areas:
- Office practices;
- Operation of Office Equipment;
- Customer Service;
- Personal computer operation with standard office software;
- Managing Multiple Tasks;
- Valid Washington State Driver's License;
- A combination of experience and training which includes experience and training in office administration, reception and basic bookkeeping.
The majority of work is performed in an office environment Monday through Friday. During peak times, incumbents may be confronted with conflicting work priorities to include working some evenings and weekend hours.
