HVAC Installer (Lead)
Location: [Milwaukee and surrounding area , Wisconsin]
We are a small, family-owned residential HVAC company specializing in heat pumps, dual-fuel (hybrid heating) systems and electrification. We are looking for a skilled individual with a passion for the industry. Our ideal candidate will be responsible, reliable, and capable of handling projects from start to finish. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot heat pumps; furnaces; dual-fuel thermostats; humidifiers and IAQ solutions.
- Manage installations from start to finish, ensuring work is done efficiently, correctly, and safely. 1 job per day (you read that correctly; we believe it is cruel to expect 2 installations per day)
- Work with colleagues to take corrective action when complications arise during installations. Be willing to teach others on how to avoid similar complications in the future.
- Responsible for good communication with homeowners regarding project status and any complications.
- Take high-quality, geo-coded, time-stamped before and after photos for each job.
- Ensure parts are picked up as needed and that the job is completed on time.
- Communicate with the owner to discuss job progress, any complications, and follow-up requirements.
- Occasionally assist with organizing and maintaining equipment and job materials.
Qualifications:
- Proven HVAC installation experience.
- Knowledge of high-efficiency home HVAC systems and installations.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication (on-site).
- Ability to drive a box truck and/or tall cargo van with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with homeowners.
- Ability to work independently and take charge of the job, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures set forth by the owner.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay: $35/hour.
- Opportunity for pay increase after a successful 3 month probation period. Shorter probation period for someone who demonstrates a high level of attention for detail with little-to-no call-backs.

Additional Info:
- No weekends or on-call work without employee's prior consent. Weekends and on-call work are not required, but overtime pay will be offered for this type of work if/when the opportunity arises.

Application Question(s):
- Please describe the function of the "Y", "O" and "B" terminals on a thermostat. Then describe how you would verify at a furnace or air handler whether or not the thermostat is passing electricity through those terminals (in other words: Describe how to verify if the thermostat is sending a signal to the indoor equipment). Lastly, how does an air source heat pump heat a home to 70 degrees F when the outdoor temperature is only 25 degrees F?
