Grant's is a thriving 85-seat restaurant known for its local following and creating amazing guest experiences for the guests of the Stowe Village Inn. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations, drive efficiency, and uphold our high standards.
Responsibilities:Culinary Leadership:- Develop and execute innovative, seasonal menus aligned with our brand and target market.
- Ensure consistency in food preparation, presentation, and taste across all dishes.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu.
- Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team culture.
- Supervise all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain high morale and productivity among kitchen team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement staff development programs.
- Maintain food and labor costs within budget while maximizing profitability.
- Work closely with management to control inventory, minimize waste, and optimize ingredient sourcing.
- Ensure portion control, proper costing, and accurate recipe documentation.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Establish and enforce kitchen safety protocols to prevent accidents or foodborne illnesses.
- Partner with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless food service and customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve customer feedback related to food quality or kitchen performance.
- Participate in special events, tastings, and community engagement initiatives.
- 5 years of Executive Chef or high-level Sous Chef experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
- Ability to deliver on large scale events for up to 150 guests.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional knowledge of menu development, cost control, and kitchen management.
- Experience with ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work efficiently under pressure.
