As a Data Analytics Director, you’ll focus on middle-market transactions, serving dynamic organizations with experienced professionals who bring a full range of advisory services to validate, optimize and create value for the Transaction Advisory Practice – all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. Your day-to-day may include:
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of engagements throughout the transaction process, and coordinate across multiple service lines, work streams, and teams
- Serve as the day-to-day point person on engagements, lead meetings and calls with clients and target management
- Train the team on the utilization of advanced business intelligence tools including complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, data blending and optimization of data extracts
- Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services
- Team with partners on proposals and business development calls
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and train managers, senior associates, and associates
- Assess performance of managers, senior associates and associates for engagement and year-end reviews
- Lead practice development efforts in R&D related to new technologies, operational and process changes, and other opportunities to scale and rationalize our team
- Lead and support business development activities, such as identification, proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients
- Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills, qualifications, and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Minimum 8 -10 years of related work experience in a consulting practice servicing cross-industry clients at a national level, leveraging skills in accounting/finance, due diligence, M&A, and advanced analytical methods required
- 2 years hands-on accounting in a professional services environment in a field such as audit or transaction advisory services required
- 6 years client facing analytics experience focused on insights, analyses, and data interpretation within M&A
- CPA certification and/or relevant professional certification required
- Expert knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI, SQL and Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, and Power Query expected
- Expert knowledge of how source data represents and relates to enterprise financial statements, along with business acumen around the commercial substance of trends observed in the data are required
- Expert level experience with common analytic approaches, such as Customer Retention, Price Volume, Unit Economics, Trend Analysis, and Profitability analysis required
- Expert knowledge of data architecture, structuring, governance, and digital strategy
- Executive communication and presentation skills, orally and written, as well as interpersonal/rapport-building skills
- Experience developing client proposals, engagement work plans, and budgets
- Experience in and desire to engage in business development to grow the practice
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice
- Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills
- Can travel as needed for client meetings and business development, but typically not more than 10%
The base salary range for this position in the firm's Chicago, IL office is between $187,500 and $312,500.
The base salary range for this position in the firm's New York, NY office is between $202,500 and $337,500.
