Students will be working within our Systems Group, assisting in developing internal material and documenting real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level. Students may gain exposure to a variety of software programming tools : PLC programming, Ladder Logic, Servo Motion Control, Networking, HMI & SCADA, .NET, SQL, VB, and Database software.

Job Description
Goals of Co-op :
A Co-op student at Grantek would typically be engaged directly on client projects after onboarding. This includes :
1. Design : design of operator interfaces and programming logic to handle sequences in a process system or handling all possibilities in a material handling system.
2. Project Management : development and / or refinement of a work breakdown structure for a project. Discussions with PM on schedule and cost. Reviewing and controlling scope.
3. Societal Implications of Engineering : Engaging with clients making products for the betterment of society.
4. Communication Skills : regular biweekly review meetings with functional manager as well as communications with client PM's, operators, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related Engineering Technology degree program
- Experience with high-level programming languages and / or embedded systems programming
- Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of database programming and multiple operating systems is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Quick learner with a meticulous and objective-driven approach
