This position is full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Wage scale is DOE. Benefit eligible.
General Summary of Primary Functions
Responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments in a pleasant, efficient, and effective manner. Checks patients in and out at their appointment time. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
Essential Job Functions
Consistent, punctual, reliable attendance.
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Books, coordinates, and reschedules patients’ appointments. Relays necessary messages to staff and providers.
Maintain a polite, courteous demeanor and a professional image, both in dress and appearance. Greets and assists patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
Maintains and updates current information on provider’s schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
Schedules outpatient and imaging appointments as requested.
Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
Updates profiles on all patients.
Oversees waiting area, coordinate patient movement, reports problems or irregularities.
Attends meeting as required.
Attends all required HIPAA, Safety, Security, Compliance and other training sessions.
Professionalism
Maintains absolute confidentiality of all patient records and information, as well as all other Clinic matters.
Works cooperatively and collaboratively with all other individuals employed by Grants Pass Clinic to fulfill the mission of providing high quality health care to patients with compassion, integrity, and professionalism.
Accountable for own actions.
Maintain good relationships with providers and co-workers.
Punctual, dependable, and keep absences to a minimum.
Uses effective communication skills, contributing to a harmonious atmosphere in the work setting, and keep communication skills open with others.
Work within a teamwork approach to assure quality care for all patients.
Decision Making
Carries out job duties and responsibilities with limited supervision. Makes decisions and establishes work priorities on essentially a procedure-oriented basis.
Authority
Does not direct the activities of staff or any particular function. Reports to Reception Supervisor.
Qualification Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to speak English clearly and concisely. Must be able to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Must be ability to sort and retrieve information correctly by alphabetic or numeric system. Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with patients, staff and the public. Word processing and/or computer experience required.
Physical Requirements Work is performed in an office environment.
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye hand coordination and manual dexterity required to operate a keyboard, mouse, open files, operate fax, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment.
Communication skills using the English language. Ability to see and hear within normal parameters. Requires lifting up to 30 pounds occasionally. Ability to cope with and manage situational as well as inherent work environment stressors.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
