Secondary ELD Teacher/ELL Coordinator


Salary range: $53.339-$94,166


(Salary based on 2024-2025 salary schedule – 2025-2026 salary schedule to be determined)


*A valid Oregon Teaching License is required*


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver ELD instruction to identified LEP students at the middle and high school.
  • Facilitate monitoring, evaluating, revising, and implementing of all procedures related to the ELL program including:
  • Identification of ELLs
  • Mandatory parent notifications
  • Record-keeping
  • Progress monitoring
  • Instructional placement
  • Reclassification
  • Monitoring of reclassified/former ELLs


Generally, this includes knowing what procedures are needed, evaluating the
effectiveness and efficiency of our current procedures, working with the department and administration to change procedures and forms.

  • Write all required ODE reports and plan, including the ELL Local Plan, ELL Program Improvement Plan, and evaluations of those plans.
  • Supporting the needs of declined students.
  • Staying up-to-date in all regulatory and best practices regarding ELLs and communicating this information to all stake-holders.
  • Provide professional development to all staff members regarding best practices for ELLs, including issues related to cultural competency and pedagogy.
  • Monitor implementation of best practices via observational data of teacher behaviors in the regular classroom using focus walk tools. The TOSA will work with building principals to conduct these focus walks. For elementary ELD classes, the ESA TOSA works with the department to create and implement a plan for monitoring instructional practices.
  • Communicate information about various ELL student groups (i.e. active, monitored, and former) to administrators and teachers.
  • Review quality of current ELD instructional resources in D7.
  • Support in conducting screening to students outside of Lincoln and Redwood Elementary.
  • Analyze data for ELPA21 and Smarter Balance to determine needs within the program.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
