Overview
The part time Extension Program Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and program support to the Extension staff in the execution of their programs. The program assistant cooperates with colleagues in the NCCE and county leaders in performing assigned responsibilities. There will be a high level of interaction with the general public.
Duties
· Provides assistance to Extension agricultural staff in the execution of their programs both in the office, the field and the classroom.
· Helps to organize, establish, maintain, and collect data from various on-farm trials.
· Compiles and summarizes data from program surveys and trials
· Helps prepare for events which may include workshops, conferences, production meetings, field days, classes and advisory committee meetings.
· Perform administrative duties for staff and clientele that meet the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.
· Assist agents with data entry, filing, making phone calls as assigned
· Create, updated and maintain online databases and social media accounts.
· Preparation and distribution of monthly newsletters
· Accept and process registrations
· Assist with Zoom conferencing
· Utilize computer programs Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Google Suites
· Compose routine emails/letters and replies based on general instructions.
· Schedule meetings, arrange appointments as requested.
· Stay updated on all Extension Policy and Procedures and other resources.
· Assume other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Google Suites products including: Gmail, Google Docs, Google Slides. Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with Zoom platform and Mac computers. Ability to learn additional platforms.

Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED.
· At least six (6) months of experience in an office environment
· Ability to market and promote Extension programs to local constituents.
· Ability to learn the policies and procedures of the program
· Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment evolving environment and take initiative to look for solutions.
· Ability to assess current situations, determine the best course of action, monitor for needed changes and ask for assistance if needed.
· Ability to trouble shoot technology and equipment and willingness to seek help if needed.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm (some flexibility)
Salary Range: $13.00 per hour
