Night Custodian

Primary Purpose : Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.Qualifications : Education : High school diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety proceduresAbility to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipmentAbility to properly handle cleaning suppliesAbility to work overtime as requiredMajor Responsibilities and Duties : Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, restrooms, etc.Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilitiesAssist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as neededReport major repair needs to supervisorInspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiencyFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.Report immediately any unusual happenings in the buildingAbility to work multiple campusesAbility to work alone or as part of a teamMaintain confidentialityParticipate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staffRegular and consistent attendanceAll other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities : NoneEquipment Used : Buffer, automatic scrubber, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, hand tools, extractor, vacuum cleaner, etc.Working Conditions : Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors : Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting and carryingWork outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and laddersExposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materialsOther : Full time employees should take two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch at scheduled timesThe foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
