Job Title: Principal Extended Learning Programs Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Pay Grade: Professional 105
Dept./School: Academics Date Revised: 3/2025
Primary Purpose:
Develop and manage educational programs outside the regular school day and calendar to support community needs and enhance student outcomes. Programs include:
- Extended Day Program (before & after school)
- Holiday and summer camps
- Summer School
- Extended Learning/Accelerated Learning
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
Valid Texas Mid-management or Principal Certification
Two years’ experience in an instructional leadership role
Professional Teacher Certification; Early Childhood preferred
Three years’ classroom teaching experience
Background in education or youth-related field
Evidence of experience in managing a budget and in long-range planning
Skills & Knowledge:
1. Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
2. Understanding of district operations relevant to the role
3. Ability to develop and manage budgets, track financial performance, and ensure program sustainability
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Ensures that programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently.
2. Evaluates and recommends improvement in the purposes, design, materials, and implementation of the program.

3. Prepares long-range planning for the program.
4. Coordinates programs at various campuses.
5. Submits and maintains a budget for the program.
6. Promotes a positive, caring climate for learning.
7. Knowledgeable of district curriculum to implement in the program.
8. Develops training options and/or improvement plans to ensure the best operation of the program.
9. Secures consultants, specialists, materials, and other community resources to assist in assuring the program is effective.
10. Works with students, staff, and community members to make them aware of the program and its purpose.
11. Maintain high-quality programs with exceptional customer service
12. Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements for childcare programs
13. Communicates clearly the District’s goals to the parents and community and responds to concerns in a timely manner.
14. All other duties as assigned.
