Cafeteria Aide
Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.
Position Summary:
The Cafeteria Aide supports the mission of our school by offering the highest quality of food service to the staff and students. The Aide will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, cleanup and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Cafeteria Aide will report to the Director of Food Services.
Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt / Hourly
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve all cafeteria meals to include cooking, baking and frying.
- Ensure all dishes are washed and sanitized in accordance with food safety standards.
- Work-station, kitchen and cafeteria clean-up.
- Rotate food accordingly to adhere to shelf life.
- Assist with inventory control and receive and stock inventory.
- Regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
- Required to stand/walk for approximately 4-7 hours per day.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
- Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
- Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
- Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal and relational skills.
- Verbal and written command of the English language.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- At least one year of previous experience highly preferred.
- Professional demeanor and approach to duties.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
- Regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
- Required to stand/walk for approximately 4-7 hours per day.
- Exposure to toxic/chemicals/detergents, extreme conditions of hot and cold, dust/fumes, moving mechanical parts, potential electrical shock, high pitched noises, gaseous risk exposure, high temperature oil and steam.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects in excess of 50 lbs. with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects weighing 25 lbs. or more.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling and balancing required.
