Teacher’s Aide - Job Description
Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.
Position Summary:
The Teacher’s Aide will be responsible for various assignments related to supporting and assisting teachers in their day to day responsibilities. The Aide will fill this crucial role by providing a positive learning environment. The Aide will report to the Elementary Principal.
Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt / 10-month
Responsibilities:
- Seeks to role model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- Assist the Elementary department with various work assignments.
- Deliver Instruction in the absence of a teacher.
- Supervise the students outside of the classroom on the playground.
- Supervise and assist students at lunch time.
- Supervise and manage students during class when the teacher is out of the room.
- Distribute mail and ensure the workroom is organized.
- Perform clerical and non-instructional assignments as assigned that may include grading papers, organizing materials, distributing work into individual students' folders or handling routine filing.
- Perform Carline duty before and after school.
- Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
- Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
- Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
- Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must have the ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with the President and Board’s expectations, established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and implement work in a disciplined manner to keep multiple projects progressing to completion simultaneously with minimal direction.
- A High School diploma is required. A Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certification preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills of the English language.
- Excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
- Knowledge of classroom management.
- Excellent technology skills and the ability to learn new technology.
