Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Position Summary:
Graphcom is seeking a Business Development Specialist who thrives on building relationships, is self-driven, and passionate about creating a lucrative career for themselves. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for representing Graphcom’s core values (we not me, can’t stop won’t stop, forever curious) in everything they do. Their purpose lies in developing business for Graphcom’s entire suite of services, including but not limited to:
- Creative Services: strategy, editorial, design, web development, data analytics
- Print Production: offset, digital, mailing, fulfillment, storefront solutions
- Signage: ADA, wayfinding, environmental graphics, tradeshow booths, fabric, etc.
Initially, the Business Development Specialist will spend most of their time researching and identifying prospects who would be a good fit for our services, and crafting compelling communications to engage these individuals. Once an opportunity arises, they’ll be responsible for conveying how our solutions would be a good fit for the clients needs through virtual and in-person “pitches” and proposal writing. As a lead becomes a client, they’ll be responsible for onboarding, managing and ultimately growing the account alongside internal teams.
In addition to selling to new customers, the Business Development Specialist is responsible for collaborating with Project Managers, Account Managers and department leads to penetrate existing accounts. They act as the client advocate when “selling” to internal teams, and are often called upon for direction on strategy, deadlines, quotes, specs, and difficult conversations.
On a daily basis, core functions of this job include (but are not limited to):
- Having a solid understanding of all services lines and understanding how to engage and lean on SMEs from these departments when needed
- Researching and identifying prospects that align with our core industries of healthcare, nonprofit and education, and therefore likely require our services
- Scheduling and leading calls, virtual and in-person meetings with potential clients to build rapport and convey Graphcom’s value in their process
- Leading the RFP process by collecting information from the client or prospect, coordinating internal resources to develop the strategy, specs and estimates, and ultimately writing proposals within Proposify
- Acting as a strategic partner by helping clients evaluate their current marketing process, needs, and goals and then appropriately aligning that with the solutions that Graphcom can provide
- Providing leadership and direction for Project Managers, Account Managers and department leads as required throughout the duration of the project
- Providing exceptional service to all clients through timely response, clear communication, problem solving, and acting as the clients internal champion
- Continuing education not only on Graphcom’s products and services, but on industry best practices and benchmarks to act as a client’s SME
- Maintaining awareness of annual sales goals and building accurate projections to align with the organization financially
As a Business Development Specialist, you will be evaluated on:
- Ability to build rapport and have transparent conversations with both internal and external constituents
- Ability to problem solve and act as a strategic partner while aiming to drive results
- Ability to embrace Graphcom’s vision and values, exuding this in all areas of our business
- Building of your portfolio and incremental sales, with the understanding that within a year we are looking for you to have 1 million dollars worth of business in your book. Monthly and annual sales goals will be provided and measured against
- Year over year revenue growth on both new and existing accounts as identified by Director of Business Development

While not required, ideal candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as marketing, communications or business strongly preferred
- Previous sales, account management or marketing experience
- Passion for non-profit, healthcare and education markets

All candidates must have:
- The ability to work in the Gettysburg, PA office for at least the first year
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven with regards to setting and exceeding goals, and taking initiative
- The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills – people buy people!
- Willingness to sign non-compete/disclosure agreement
- Valid driver’s license and insurance with proof required
- Ability to travel as required (usually no more than 25% of your time, most often within 2 hour distance)
- Exclusion from the System for Award Management (SAM) List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) prior to hire and ongoing throughout their tenure at the company. Inclusion in the LEIE is grounds for immediate dismissal
- Willingness to complete all required training courses upon hire and annually thereafter
- Willingness to adhere to compliance with all company policies and procedures
