Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify tree and landscape species, including common pests and diseases.
- Diagnose and provide solutions for pest and disease issues.
- Lead a team of employees, providing guidance and supervision during daily tasks.
- Communicate directly with clients to assess needs, provide estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work independently when necessary, completing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
- Manage schedules, job assignments, and inventory for the department.
- Assist in the professional development of the tree care team.
- Maintain a valid Iowa pesticide license (or obtain within a specified time frame).
- Keep accurate records of pesticide applications and other treatments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in tree care, landscape maintenance, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of tree and landscape species and ability to identify common pests and diseases.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid and clean driver’s license (required for driving company vehicles).
- Ability to obtain or currently hold an Iowa pesticide license.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a team is a plus.
