DESCRIPTION :
Our client, an oil and gas company located in Garden City, NY, is seeking to hire a Controller to oversee financial management, accounting operations, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and prior experience managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, QuickBooks Online, 401(k) administration, insurance matters, leasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Controller will lead a small bookkeeping team and ensure the company's financial health and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A / R, A / P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Manage the preparation of the company’s financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and analysis to monitor performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
- Administer the company’s 401(k) plan, including compliance with relevant regulations and employee education.
- Manage insurance matters including property, liability, and workers' compensation policies.
- Oversee leasing agreements for various brick-and-mortar locations and ensure cost-effective management
- Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Lead and mentor a team providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS :
This role is full-time and offers standard benefits including medical, PTO, 401k, etc. Please note this role is an on-site role, 5x a week in the office.
Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
