Our Area Sales Managers reach out to B2B customers through in-person interactions to generate new sales, as well as providing excellent customer service including retention of current books of business to the Knoxville metro market. They will meet with prospective clients as well as existing customers to present sales proposals and negotiate deals while building and nurturing connections with decision makers. Our goal is to focus on active prospecting as well as localized networking to achieve growth in every area of our business units. Although cold calling can be effective to locate potential customers, we believe that the prospecting, in person follow-ups, and interacting with our operations team will lead to success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Organize and perform sales routes as well as follow ups throughout the Nashville market to strengthen street level market presence as well as business growth.
- Calling on new and existing customers, utilizing /owning company provided business journals and early customer recognition tools.
- 80% of your time is spent in your designated territory, prospecting/cold calling, and exploring market opportunities. The balance of time will be spent preparing proposals, team building, strategic planning, and account management with the internal team.
- Gathering contract expiration dates, documenting existing customer concerns, and working with other departments to satisfy customer requests for service.
- Performs contractual re-signs by effectively building long-term customer relationships and responsible for increasing profitability where appropriate.
- Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, lines of business, pricing structures, and offers additional services for appropriate customers.
- Conduct waste stream analysis to include estimation of volumes and recognition of waste streams requiring special handling including recyclable or commodity driven products.
- Builds relationships and increases Company visibility through participation in Company sponsored activities, trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other similar activities.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record while following all company policies and procedures.
- Participate in all company sales training events as well as out of company secondary education opportunities.
Required Qualifications/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving
- Outside sales/B2B experience preferred
- Liquid Waste industry experience a plus
- High school diploma or GED required. Degree preferred but not required.
- Experience in Sales and service role
- Driven, self-reliant employee that can work well with all levels of an organization.
- Reliable transportation required.
