- This job posting is for a School Psychologist or an applicant with an Intellectual Assessment Endorsement for a limited contract of 5-15 days to perform assistance with intellectual testing for the remainder of the 24-25 school year.
TITLE: Psychometrist
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Kentucky Certificate
REPORTS TO: Special Education Director
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Administers, scores, and interprets intelligence and achievement test to provide test information to teachers, counselors, parents, and other specified entitled parties.
- Conducts behavior observations of student as requested.
- Complies test scores and other information then writes reports with scores, interpretive information, and recommendations.
- Applies knowledge of principles and practices of special education to the needs of the district.
- Maintains an orderly work atmosphere and keeps the Director of Special Education fully informed of the program’s activities and status.
- Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary assessment team when students have been referred for screening/evaluation.
- Assists special education and regular education teachers to determine ways to assist student with academic/behavior issues.
- Serves on the Admission and Release Committee to interpret test scores, review reports, and help determine eligibility for special education services.
- Attends conferences, trainings, and other professional development meetings to stay informed of current information regarding special education, testing instruments, and evaluation issues.
- Consults with teachers regarding academic and/or behavior needs of students.
- Administers academic screens to students who are in the RTI process to help guide development of specific interventions as applicable.
- Works with guidance counselors and special education teachers to facilitate in the planning of the evaluation process.
- Works with the Testing Center team, consisting of the School Psychologist and Secretary, to maintain the organization of evaluation folders, request additional information from the schools when needed, and meet timelines by sending written reports out to the schools within a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate work calendar and submits to Director of Special Education in a timely manner.
- Assumes responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment, supplies, and assessments after consulting with Director of Special Education.

- Applies the knowledge of principles and practices of modern public school special education to the needs of the district.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of school psychology, including attending professional development meetings/conferences and maintaining current tests and assessment procedures.
- Conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education in collaboration with other district assessment staff in a timely manner.
- Integrates and interprets data through an integrated multidisciplinary evaluation report on students referred for special education.
- Interprets evaluation results to school personnel, parents, students, and other concerned professionals.
- Attends ARC/504 meetings to interpret initial evaluation reports and to help determine initial eligibility and programming for students or as requested by a school.
- Ensures confidentiality of student information.
- Serves as Section 504 coordinator, in conjunction with the Director of Special Education, to monitor the evaluation process and documentation of accommodations for students with Section 504 plans.
- Assists in developing district-wide special education referral and evaluation procedures.
- Assists teachers in Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans as needed.
- Serves as a resource person to school/district staff, including consulting with or assisting staff in the RTI/504/Special Education processes, providing intervention/accommodation suggestions to teachers for students, and being on call for emergency/crisis situations in the district as needed.
- Provides counseling for any Graves County Student as needed.
- Provides counseling at the Alternative School as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or the Superintendent.
