The Practice Manager for Dermatology, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery oversees day to day operations and facilitates cohesiveness to ensure quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical background and supervisory/management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day operations within a busy practice.
- Clinical background is essential.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all clinic staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Must have proven ability to manage financial aspects.
- Develop and manage the clinic’s financial performance, ensuring goals, KPI’s, and physician-advised targets are met.
- Monitor financial performance, including expenses, revenue, and profitability, and implement strategies to improve financial outcomes.
- Overseeing clinical and clerical staff, scheduling, pre-certifications/pre-authorizations.
- Coordination of providers — may include assisting providers with electronic medical record documentation and patient exams/procedures.
- Facilitation of communication between providers, staff, administration, patients, and ancillaries.
- Must be cross-trained to manage all aspects of patient care in order to enhance functionality and cost-efficiency while maximizing customer satisfaction.
- May involve implementation of departmental policies & procedures.
- Working with Administration to enforce organization and departmental policies & procedures within the Gastroenterology department.
- Variety of other duties as necessary/assigned
- AS EXPECTED WITH ALL HEALTHCARE POSITIONS, MUST ADHERE TO HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBOREN PATHOGEN regulations and maintain associated workplace trainings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field if strongly preferred, but not required.
- 5 years of healthcare management experience, including supervisory responsibilities in a clinic or medical practice setting.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing practices, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, expense control, and revenue cycle management.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position in a clinic setting, with regular office hours Monday through Friday.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate clinic needs.
