Position Description
Job Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Reports To: Middle School Principal
Evaluated By: Middle School Prncipal
QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas Department of Education License in Middle School Math. (Minimum Requirement)
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher and be licensed to teach in Arkansas and must hold a valid State of Arkansas Criminal History Records Check Approval.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated aptitude or competence in the performance responsibilities listed below.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be willing to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested.
- Must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated aptitude or competence for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
JOB GOAL: To teach all assigned students following the Arkansas Department of Education Frameworks and all Gravette Board Policies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To direct and evaluate the learning experiences of the pupil in both curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- To provide guidance to pupils which will promote their welfare and proper educational development.
- To seek professional aid of school principals.
- To be responsible for child accounting.
- To maintain a liaison with parents.
- To administer the classroom and its program.
- To provide for the care and protection of school property.
- To participate in faculty meetings and staff development activities.
- To cooperate with and participate in the planning and the evaluation of the school program.
- To maintain cordial and workable relationships with colleagues.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the principals.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year in accordance with Gravette Public Schools salary schedule.
EVALUATION: The basis of the evaluation will be the extent to which the performance responsibilities of the job are successfully handled and the extent to which yearly action plans and job goals are met.
