A Little More About The role:
We’re looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support monthly and quarterly analysis of claims experience to drive actionable insights to the business as well as build Gravie’s overall understanding of how it’s unique product design drives bottom line results.
You will:
· Assist in the development of cost and utilization reporting to better understand drivers of total medical and pharmacy claims, and understanding specifically how those drivers flow through to specific and aggregate stop loss liabilities.
· Support exploratory analysis to investigate causes, effects, driving factors, and other key business insights.
· Support the actuarial, finance, underwriting, product strategy, finance and other areas within Gravie with actuarial analyses and/or modeling as requested.
· Deliver actionable insights to drive pricing modifications, product design changes, and other business-focused decisions.
· Prepare, perform and/or review complex actuarial analyses and financial modeling.
· Perform IBNP/IBNR liability/reserve development.
· Demonstrate commitment to our core competencies of being authentic, curious, creative, empathetic and outcome oriented.
You bring:
· A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
· Basic experience with SQL, Python, Java, VBA and/or other programming languages
· 2 actuarial exams passed and seeking credentials.
· A successful track record of taking an idea on how to improve a process and executing on it.
· Curiosity in the story behind the numbers and how that story impacts the broader business.
· Comfort and skill in communicating broad and complex concepts to a diverse audience.
· Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment that is constantly maturing and evolving.
· A creative and consultative approach, with an interest in thinking outside of the box, with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple critical projects.
Extra credit:
· 2-5 years of substantial experience supporting health actuarial functions
· Previous startup company experience

The salary range for this position is $70,200 - $117,000 annually. Numerous factors including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. will be considered when determining compensation.
