MacOS & Mobile Device Management (MDM) Systems Analyst

As a Mobile Device Management (MDM) Systems Analyst you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining the clients MDM infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the security, compliance, and effective utilization of mobile devices across various platforms, such as smartphones, tablets, macOS software and hardware.

Position Overview: The Mobile Device Management (MDM) System Analyst collaborates with MDM Engineers, Architects and end-users to ensure smooth and effective use of mobile devices for our federal customer. The Analyst directly engages with end-users to address device enrollment, configuration, security settings, and application management issues. Candidates should have experience in supporting Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and MDM solutions at large scale enterprise clients with proven delivery in supporting and troubleshooting complex implementations of VMWare Workspace One, JAMF, Microsoft Intune, MobileIron or equivalent systems.

Candidates must have experience troubleshooting device based firewalls including DISA STIG baselining and assessment of Apple macOS, Apple iOS, Android OS etc. Proficiency with escalation management, bug tracking, maintaining customer KB, when resolving technical incidents related to macOS, Windows virtual desktops/applications, VPN, PIV, Derived PIV credentials, authentications, authorization, internal/3^rd party mobile applications and/or hardware/software provisioning issues.

Advanced knowledge of System/User Administration principles and prior experience with Active Directory and ADFS concepts would be beneficial. Experience with GPO s, Azure AD/Entra ID enrolled objects, GPO design, PowerShell scripting, Mobile Threat Defense using Azure Endpoint Manager for Mobile devices, is a direct match.

The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of mobile device management platforms, security protocols, risk management frameworks (RMF), software development life cycle (SDLC), security assessment life cycle, and vulnerability management using FISMA or NIST standards.

The role entails maintaining documentation and preparing revisions for leadership review. Active collaboration with stakeholders is crucial to assess related systems and processes, ensuring they meet stipulated requirements and can host applications without compromising performance or security. Experience with Agile methodologies, ITIL-based Service Management workflow tools, such as incident, problem, and requirements management, is highly desirable.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
• Must possess or be willing to acquire a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Clearance Preference:

• DHS Full BI - 1st preference
• Any DHS badge DoD Top Secret - 2nd preference
• DoD Top Secret willingness to get DHS clearance - 3rd preference

Depending on your current standing, it can take up to 3 months to obtain a suitable clearance. Work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated. No exceptions.

Responsibilities:

1. Mobility System Configuration and Maintenance:
• Collaborate with clients to understand their mobility requirements and objectives.
• Design and implement comprehensive mobility solutions using Intune and/or VMware platforms.
• Configure and deploy mobile device management (MDM) policies, profiles, content and applications.
• Ensure seamless integration of mobility solutions within clients' existing network architecture.
2. Device Enrollment and Onboarding:
• Enroll new mobile devices into the MDM system, ensuring proper configuration and security settings.
• Collaborate with end-users to guide them through the device enrollment process and troubleshoot any issues.
3. Application and Content Management:
• Facilitate the distribution of applications, updates, and content to mobile devices through the MDM platform.
• Manage app listing and listing based on security and productivity requirements.
4. macOS Management:
• Leverage advanced macOS management techniques to administer policies and facilitate over-the-air (OTA) zero-touch deployment solutions.
• Implement security measures, software updates, and application management for macOS.
• Provide macOS-related technical support and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
5. Network Integration:
• Utilize your networking experience to assess clients' network environments and ensure compatibility with mobility solutions.
• Collaborate with network teams to establish secure communication channels for mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues affecting mobility performance and connectivity.
6. Security and Compliance:
• Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data on mobile devices.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to mobility and network security.
• Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities in mobility solutions.
7. Documentation and Training:
• Create and maintain documentation for mobility solution designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide training to clients and internal teams on mobility best practices, usage guidelines, and troubleshooting methods.
8. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to cross platform device management solution providers such as Intune, VMware, etc.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3-7 years of proven experience as a Mobility Analyst/Admin with advanced knowledge of MDM systems such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace One, MobileIron, JAMF, Kandji or equivalent system.
• Strong expertise in managing iOS, macOS, Android OS, Windows Server 2019-2022, SQL Live, Windows Server VM s, including software updates, security patches\configurations, and application management.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation is a plus
• Familiarity with mobile security practices and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) concepts is beneficial.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Intune certification, VMware AirWatch certification, and Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) would be a plus.
