Reporting to the Director of Operations and Programs, the Group Fitness Coach is a part-time instructor role at Graviton contributing to the company's overall success and member satisfaction.
The Group Fitness Coach is responsible for leading 1-5 group classes per week, and attending staff meetings, trainings, and member experience events. Classes will last 1 hour, have a maximum of 20 participants and will contain a coach-led warm up, barbell lift and strength portion, metabolic conditioning circuit, and a cool down. Coaches are responsible for demonstrating movements with proper form, explaining the “why” behind workouts, spot correcting during the workouts, and facilitating a positive member experience throughout the class.
This position offers the opportunity for additional training and experience working with clients 1:1. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate with diverse individuals and groups is required.
Qualifications
- Prior fitness experience coaching clients.
- Committed to the overall success of Graviton through supporting the day-to-day operations as needed to ensure top notch facilities and excellent member experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate with diverse individuals and groups.
- Organized, flexible and resourceful.
- Computer-savvy and proficient.
- Desire to constantly develop and improve member experience.
- A willingness to work on weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
Position Requirements
- Maintain valid CPR/AED certification.
- 1 years of successful fitness industry experience including group coaching, personal training, or relevant experience. OR 5 years of lifting experience with a desire to learn and teach.
- Satisfactory background check.
- Satisfactory CORI check.
Preferred:
- Maintain active personal trainer certification, or progress towards certification.
- Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Psychology or Relevant education/experience will be considered.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
