Job Description
This position is responsible for delivering high-quality service, technical support, and guidance to users while upholding the highest standards of efficiency, knowledge, and integrity. The ideal candidate should have experience designing and implementing global networks across multiple technologies. The role involves working closely with the network team to address daily operational issues across multiple sites, with a strong focus on supporting high-availability IT/OT environments in regulated industries.
Additionally, this individual will collaborate with service operations managers—primarily outsourced—to maintain the stability and integrity of mission-critical infrastructure, applications, and systems. The role ensures adherence to agreed IT network management service levels and best practices.
This is a site-specific position where the incumbent will be the primary point of contact for infrastructure-related initiatives, coordinating efforts with subject matter experts (SMEs) and leadership as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and delivery management oversight for network administration teams managing global, on-premises, and cloud-connected resources.
- Address escalations related to the operational performance of networking support teams and connected services.
- Maintain expertise in network administration, security best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration to resolve complex IT infrastructure issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, leading execution of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to IT service management policies and processes in collaboration with leadership.
- Work with enterprise architecture and service delivery teams to review operational readiness of new and modified services.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulatory standards such as SOX and NIST.
- Provide technical guidance and communicate status updates to IT leadership during major incidents.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in advanced global network architecture design.
- 5 years managing infrastructure teams supporting global and on-premises network infrastructure.
- 5 years of experience working with a managed service provider.
- Advanced knowledge of network configurations, operating systems, and Cisco IOS/Stratix switches.
- Experience with Aviatrix cloud and security networking platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, bio-tech, life science or pharmaceuticals.
- Knowledge of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and deviations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on problem-solving and collaboration.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and proprietary systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for network-connected hardware such as servers, load balancers, and storage clusters.
- Experience with cross-platform data migrations.
- In-depth understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, SD-WAN, MPLS, firewalls, and authentication protocols (TACACS, MFA, SAML, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CyberOps are a plus.
