We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to take a leading role in managing structural design teams across a diverse portfolio of projects. These may include developments in sectors such as energy, healthcare, government, industrial, institutional, and manufacturing. This role involves overseeing the entire design process, from initial concept through construction, ensuring alignment with client goals, project budgets, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee structural engineering efforts from concept through final design, ensuring project objectives and client expectations are met.
- Develop specifications, data sheets, and procurement documentation for structural equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to review drawings and ensure technical compatibility.
- Contribute to project planning, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and staffing.
- Manage and document design changes and their impact on cost, schedule, and deliverables.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of structural engineering practices, standards, and codes to complex design challenges.
- Perform and oversee quality reviews of drawings and models produced in CAD and other design software.
- Support construction activities by resolving structural design issues in the field and performing necessary calculations and site investigations.
- Conduct on-site assessments, measurements, and technical evaluations for a variety of facilities.
- Create and deliver detailed technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and team members, supporting business development efforts.
- Engage in proposal development, including fee estimates, qualification statements, and technical input for new pursuits.
- Provide accurate project cost estimates and monitor performance metrics throughout project execution.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for junior engineers, offering technical guidance and professional development.
- Ensure quality assurance and control processes are consistently followed throughout the design lifecycle.
- Maintain open communication with other disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Uphold all company safety standards and ensure compliance at project sites.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution; a master’s degree is an advantage.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology and successful completion of the FE exam.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering; EPC project experience is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Proficient in industry design standards (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7) and engineering tools including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability on large-scale design projects and effective task delegation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and work independently or within a team.
- Skilled in quality assurance reviews and interpretation of detailed engineering documents.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
