The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the clinic provider according to the medical protocol set forth by Gravity Weight Loss and Wellness. Under general direction, provides patient care; obtains patient’s vitals, and body composition; documents patients’ progress; and assists with patient care management.
This is a part time position with the opportunity to expand into a full time position in the near future.
Qualifications
· Motivational counseling/advising skills
· Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required OR active current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant required
· Six months prior experience as a Medical Assistant required
· Must be able to multi-task, apply critical thinking skills, and provide highest level of customer service at all levels of the operation
· Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both oral and written
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
Responsibilities
· The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the clinic provider
· Under general direction, provides patient care; obtains patient’s vitals; documents patients’ progress; and assists with patient care management
· Conducts body composition
· Obtains patient’s vitals
· Prepares laboratory order forms
· Obtains patient laboratory results
· Non-essential Job Functions
· Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR
· Assists practitioner with medication inventory procedures
· Conducts consultations as delegated by supervising practitioner with patients regarding the Gravity Weight Loss and Wellness program
· Performs other clinical duties as required
· Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns
· Assists with all administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, scheduling patients, and filing medical records
· Responsible for daily inventory levels of all clinical supplies
· Trains additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or practitioner
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
