Position: Operating System Product Owner
Location: Huntsville, AL
Status: Full-time exempt
Position Description
- The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO).
- The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of the Operating System and IBCS Software supporting applications for the Operating System (OS) team.
- The position will include reviewing/understanding Systems Engineering concepts/designs/algorithms of secure systems and providing guidance to the development team.
- The product owner will also be responsible for working with the Cyber team to ensure a hardened cyber posture for the system network.
- The product owner will work with Program management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects for the team for each product increment and sprint.
- The position will include creating and presenting technical briefings, demonstrations and advisement to leadership.
- The product owner will report on status; recommended courses of actions, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
- Good understanding of Operating Systems (Linux and Windows) and OS related development tools, zero trust security model, various IBCS supportive software applications operability and installation as well as good networking foundation.
- Ability to work directly with the Agile software developers to meet deadlines and program objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, the sciences or mathematics or related field
- Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above or related experience
- US Citizenship Required; Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance after start date
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
- Knowledge or experience in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
- Experience in JIRA/Confluence
- Agilist certification
- ABET Accredited Degree
- The ability to "move out" and champion your ideas, architectures, designs, enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and having a team attitude
Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
