Position: Systems Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Status: Full-time exempt
Position Description:
Gray Analytics is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join a technology development program. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent people skills to assist in identifying customer needs and challenges and developing potential solutions. Specifically, as a System Engineer, the candidate will be expected to implement solutions across multiple digital engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and IBM DOORS, collaborate with team members of other disciplines to facilitate cohesive system solutions, interact with customers during collaboration discussions and review meetings, and engage with suppliers and vendors to acquire contract resources.
The candidate will support the customer in Huntsville, Alabama. The majority of work will be performed in a hybrid at-home/in-office environment, but may also include time at Government facilities, integration laboratories and hypersonic test facilities. Travel <10%.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of system architectures, requirements, and specifications
- Collaborate with stakeholders and domain experts to ensure system design meets customer needs and requirements
- Conduct trade studies evaluating design alternatives to inform architectural decisions that optimizes performance, cost, and requirements
- Conduct analysis of system performance and provide recommendations for improvements
- Utilize modeling tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM DOORS, and others
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and testing activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably a physics-based engineering discipline (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar).
- 2 years of experience in systems engineering of government systems
- Practitioner of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, etc.)
- Understanding of systems engineering processes and system life cycles
- Knowledge of defense industry standards and practices (e.g., CCB, requirements management and traceability, document approval, configuration management)
- Comprehension of a variety of engineering disciplines to support system level discussions and impacts
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Self-motivated, adaptable with a growth mindset
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- US Citizen
- The ability to travel when required.
Desired Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in systems engineering government systems
Security Requirements:
- Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance.
