The Assistant Electrical Manager will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, helping to estimate project costs, coordinate bids with subcontractors, and ensure the feasibility of electrical systems and controls. This position is ideal for professionals with a few years of experience who are looking to develop their technical expertise, communication skills, and business acumen in a dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:
- Cost Estimating:
- Analyze historical data to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical components of projects.
- Collaborate with senior managers to refine estimating processes and improve accuracy.
- Subcontractor Coordination:
- Engage with electrical and controls subcontractors to gather quotes, level bids, and assess capabilities.
- Ensure subcontractor estimates align with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, communications, and project specifications.
- Prepare and present reports on estimating activities and project status to senior management.
- Project Management:
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bids.
- Support the transition from pre-construction to construction phases by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Design
- Influence and guide the design of new systems, buildings, and campuses.
Who we want… (Requirements)
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related discipline) is preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent years of related experience will be considered in place of a technical degree.
- Pursuit of an MBA or related business qualification is desirable.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in construction estimating or project management is advantageous but not required.
- Electrical Candidates – Experience with electrical distribution systems, controls, lighting, power generation, process engineering, electrical design, single line diagrams, or construction management is advantageous but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estimating software is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
