We (Gray TV) seek broadcast media professionals who can train other media professionals to develop client business relationships with our TV stations. Gray training facility is located in Charlotte, NC.
Job Summary/Description:
The Business Development Team seeks a Media Sales Strategist who will be responsible for station revenue development and training across all our television station properties. This position will also focus on in-market station visits to help generate revenue, develop new client relationships, and further develop our sales professionals. This position is located at our training facility in Charlotte, NC.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the sales development and training of all sellers and managers
- In-market station visits to generate revenue and develop sellers
- Staying in tune and ahead of technology advancements, especially in digital
- Develop new strategies and training content that will drive and accelerate revenue
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least five years of sales experience in the Broadcast industry
- At least two years of sales management experience in the Broadcast industry
- Exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills. Demonstrates fluency, “quickness on one’s feet.” Composes clear, precise, well-organized correspondence and proposals. Easily articulate vision and standards.
- High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be able to plan and organize multiple projects at a time and in a productive manner
- A solution-based thinker who can generate new approaches to problems and provide thoughtful solutions
- A goal-oriented individual who displays a strong work ethic and initiative in everything they do
- Great judgment and demonstrates consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in their decision-making ability
- Strong negotiation skills where the individual can achieve favorable outcomes in win/win negotiations
- Adaptability and ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities. Copes effectively with complexity
- Leadership - inspires people to follow the lead. Leads by example and actively intervenes to create and energize positive change
- Analysis Skills - Identify significant problems and opportunities. Analyzes problems in depth. Relates and compares data from different sources
