Job Summary/Description:
WRDW NEWS 12 26 is looking for a creative and self-motivated Creative Service Manager. This person reports directly to the General Manager, provides hands-on leadership within the department, and is instrumental in brand management and audience growth on all platforms. The Creative Service Manager will be entrusted to lead the execution of strategic plans and produce marketing content to support station goals.
As the creative service manager, you will also be responsible for exceptional video production, including writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and maintaining a working knowledge of motion graphic design. In addition, you will also assist in placing outside media, promotions scheduling, commercial production, and other content-based projects as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- With writers/producers, create innovative and branded news, marketing materials, and messages for the station.
- With the Creative Team, Graphics Hub, and Regional Director, create necessary news branding graphic elements for all station platforms.
- Create, review, approve, and revise copy as assigned.
- Create new marketing strategies targeted toward alignment with all on-air news promotional efforts.
- Develop and produce unique and creative/branded station content
- With News managers and EPs, obtain the best content/moments of our news products that demonstrate our brand to viewers/users.
- Work with the Regional Director to educate and mentor producers in developing successful news promotion writing styles and innovative editing techniques.
- With Regional Director and GM, identify & plan community outreach opportunities.
- Serve as a conduit between the News, Sales, and Creative Services departments.
- Perform all other marketing duties as assigned by station management.
Qualifications:
- Experience (5 years) in innovative writing, editing, and producing branded content
- Experience producing digital content
- Familiarity with Graphic design and project execution.
- Strong understanding of web/social trends and technology
- Non-linear editing skills
- Advanced video production and cinematography skills
- Advanced lighting skills
- Ability to work under a deadline and manage multiple projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding organizational problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Film/Video, or related field preferred.
- A clean driving record is required.
Candidate must provide specific examples of effective video marketing, positive results, and ways he or she has been a leader on his or her team.
