Job Summary/Description:
TV6 News in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is looking for an engaged and engaging anchor and host to join our news team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to connect with the community. This person must have a strong on-air, conversational presentation during the TV6 Morning News and Upper Michigan Today. They will work as a producer, anchor, and host. Upper Michigan Today is an hour-long show that features many talented people who can connect with the audience. The show is live daily in the studio or on location.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Co-anchor morning newscast and co-host daily topical show
- Writing for on-air and online
- Conversational writing
- Generate ideas and coordinate daily guests and segments
- Knowledge of video editing
- Be a leader in the newsroom by actively engaging in the editorial process
- Must meet deadlines and be able to multi-task
- Great attitude and enjoy working with others
- Strong work ethic
- Enjoy talking with people
- Social Media involvement and knowledge
- Professional appearance
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A command of the English language, spelling, and grammar are required.
- Personal appearances in the community and station functions are an important part of the job.
- Ability to critique other's work and act as a mentor.
