About KSFY:
KSFY/KDLT is an award-winning television operation serving viewers in the eastern half of South Dakota as well as portions of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. The stations operate from a new studio in downtown Sioux Falls as one rebranded organization called Dakota News Now. The Dakota News Now team produces 38 hours of news each week. Job Summary/Description:
Dakota News Now is seeking a dynamic Producer/Multimedia Journalist to join their newsroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing daily newscasts while also contibuting content to digital news platforms. This role requires strong news judgment, excellent storytelling abilities, and proficiency in both live reporting and social media engagement.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Work with producers, news director, and assignment desk to plan newscasts
- Demonstrate excellent news judgment and journalism ethics
- Exhibit strong writing, storytelling, and reporting skills
- Produce newscast rundowns, write stories, build graphics, and coordinate with control room and field crews
- Utilize social media and online news production effectively
- Manage time and organize tasks efficiently
- Be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or related field
- Basic experience with newsroom computer systems (ENPS) is preferred
- Understanding of AP Style and broadcast writing
- Ability to lift/carry equipment ranging from 35-50 lbs
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Professional representation of the station in the community and on social media
- Desire to win and ability to reflect on work and apply feedback
