Traveling Fiber Field Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and premise installation, with hands-on experience in field service. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients.

Duties

• Install and maintain fiber optic cabling systems in various environments.
• Conduct field service operations, including troubleshooting and repairing network issues.
• Utilize testing equipment to ensure proper functionality of installations.
• Configure and manage modems, routers, and access points to optimize network performance.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement efficient cabling solutions.
• Provide technical support form connectivity issues and other computer networking challenges.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and service records.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fiber technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service related to telecommunications or networking.
• Strong knowledge of cabling standards and practices, particularly in fiber optics.
• Familiarity with Ethernet protocols and computer networking principles.
• Mechanical knowledge related to installation processes is preferred.
• Experience with Cisco routers is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
