Grays Harbor College Athletic Department is accepting applications for a Head Coach for Intercollegiate Women’s wrestling. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, this position oversees all aspects of the women’s wrestling program in accordance with all athletic department, college, and follows the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) policies and regulations, but is not an NWAC sport. The head coach has the ultimate responsibility for implementing a comprehensive collegiate wrestling experience for student athletes that includes academic achievement, competitive athletics and opportunities to pursue interests and passions. This is a part-time, non-tenure position and not eligible for benefits.

- Coordinate the women’s wrestling program, assistant coaches and student athletes in accordance with established conference rules and regulations (NWAC and NCWA) including the oversight of all eligibility rules and regulations as established by the athletic department
- Teaching wrestling skills and strategies to prepare individuals and the team for intercollegiate competition
- Recruit student athletes following NWAC regulations and college guidelines
- Assist with the monitoring of student athlete’s academic progress
- Assist in the development of a competitive schedule in collaboration with the Athletic Director and in alignment with budgetary guidelines
- Provide post-season evaluation of all student athletes.
- Maintain minimum roster requirements as set by the Athletic Department.
- Work with department personnel to coordinate game management, travel arrangements and athletic facility usage details
- Maintain and ensure proper tracking of program equipment and apparel
- Assist in program budget administration and facilitate team-sponsored fundraising activities to enhance the program
- Timely processing of appropriate institutional and conference paperwork and reports
- Demonstrate continued professional growth by staying current in and expanding knowledge of wrestling coaching techniques
- Adhere to the Athletic Department Coaches Handbook
- Represent the athletics department and programs in the community
- Attend department meetings as requested
- Conduct end of the season exit interviews and discuss results with athletic department
- Assist athletic department conduct student-athlete surveys
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Demonstrated experience as a wrestling coach
- Availability to attend practices and games on weekday afternoons and evenings, and weekends
- Demonstrated understanding of NCWA and NWAC wresting rules and regulations
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain certification prior to first practice
- Availability to travel out of state as needed
- Valid unrestricted Washington Driver’s License
