What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Services Supervisor position at Grayslake Area Public Library?

The ideal candidate for a Public Services Supervisor would be enthusiastic about all points of service in the Library (Adult, Front Desk, Makerspace, Teen and Youth) and would have particular makerspace knowledge and experience. Our PS Supervisors must be motivated to train and support Library staff in responsibilities related to these points of service. as well as motivated to train and support Library staff in responsibilities related to these points of service. This position is highly collaborative and requires adaptability and the ability to manage frequent interruptions. Being approachable and having a positive attitude are important in this role.
The schedule is 37.5 hours average including one evening a week (Tuesday or Thursday) and a weekend rotation. Further flexibility in scheduling is required. Communication and coordination related to desk scheduling is sometimes necessary outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Benefits include paid holidays and earned time off; medical, life, and short-term disability insurance are offered; participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund is required.
