Overview:
Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning Kid's Camp Staff: CWL Kid's Camp Staff will play a crucial role in creating a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for campers. Coordinate camp logistics and serve as the primary point of contact for instructors. Camp staff will be tasked with helping camp participants carry out activities, development, growth, skill achievement, and their general well-being.
Camps will be held at both our Denison and Van Alstyne campuses.
This is a part-time temporary position. Anticipated start date early March, anticipated end mid-to-late July.
The hourly rate of this position is $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
*Coordinate camp logistics with instructors, including scheduling class times, securing necessary supplies, and planning activities to ensure a smooth experience for campers.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors, ensuring they have the materials, classroom space, and support needed for successful sessions.
*Supervise campers, ensuring safety during activities, meals, and free time.
*Maintain discipline, enforce camp rules, and mediate camper disputes as needed.
*Keep accurate program records, including attendance, incident reports, and logs.
*Monitor and track dietary restrictions/allergies, ensuring proper snack distribution.
*Communicate regularly with campers, staff, and instructors regarding camp activities and concerns.
*Assist with camper sign-in, activity setup, and verifying authorized pickups.
*Adhere to all emergency procedures and ensure campers’ whereabouts are known at all times.
*Serve as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.

3. Serves as a role model to students.
4. Represents Grayson College well; serves as an ambassador for the college in the community.
5. Compliance with all laws and regulations related to industrial technology and higher education.
Qualifications:
*Requires a high school diploma/GED. Some higher education preferred.
*Work under the general direction of the program director.
*Experience in implementing camps, youth programs, recreation activities, working with children, or in a related field or classroom management preferred.
*A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
*Ability to interact with students positively and encouragingly.
*First Aid certification.
