Hiring for Assistant County Attorney I.
State prosecutor.
Positon opens Feb. 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly prepare for and try misdemeanor cases before juries or the bench.
- Research, analyze and appropriately draft court motions, memorandums, filings, etc.
- Assist more senior attorneys during courtroom docket days including being able to represent the Commonwealth at preliminary hearings, pretrial conferences, arraignments, suppression hearings, etc.
- Communicate well with police officers, victims, clerks and other crucial staff involved in the justice system.
- Try other types of cases including Guardianships and Juvenile adjudications.
- Meet with members of the public concerning private complaint applications or other services we offer.
Skills
- Excellent legal drafting skills, capable of producing clear and persuasive documents.
- Strong research abilities, with experience using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw for case law analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to articulate legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to treat the staff and all others with respect.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $63,200.00 per year
