Location: Remote US Based- Southeast, Midwest, and Southwest
Job Summary:
We're looking for a driven and compassionate Entry-Level Legal Associate to contribute to our mission of helping individuals secure Social Security Disability benefits. This role is perfect for recent graduates or attorneys with 1-3 years of experience who are seeking a rewarding career in a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with clients while receiving extensive training and mentorship from experienced attorneys. Responsibilities:
- Conduct 25-40 administrative SSD hearings per month, primarily via video conference.
- Occasional travel for in-person hearings as needed
- Conduct pre-hearing phone calls with clients to prepare them for their hearings and gather necessary information
- Review and edit medical summaries and legal briefs prepared by support staff
- Collaborate with supervising attorneys on case strategy and development
- Maintain accurate and organized case files
- Stay up-to-date on changes in Social Security Disability law and regulations
- Timely client communication, research, and drafting of legal documents
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in any U.S. state
- 1-3 years of legal experience; experience conducting hearings and/or working in a legal firm preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of cases
- Compassionate and dedicated to helping others
- Proficiency with video conferencing technology and other relevant software
