What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator - Entry Level position at Grazzini Brothers and Company?

Job Summary: The role of the Estimator is to Quantity Estimate materials for Cost Estimating purposes. This includes quantity plan reading, on-screen takeoffs, inputs into estimating software, performing estimates, training, scheduling, establishing goals and standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
- Performs a key role in project planning, budgeting and identification of resources needed.
- Prepares Quantity Estimates off of Architectural Drawings; Proficient Plan reading skills a must
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors and negotiating price.
- Prepares special reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- University degree or college diploma, Construction Degree a plus
- Effective oral/written communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Ability to analyze information, use documentation, reporting and Estimating skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to develop budgets and vendor relationships
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Sage 300 accounting and WinEst estimating software is a plus.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
