What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Seasonal - Grounds Natural Resources position at GRDA?
This position is responsible for assisting with natural resource management of the Neosho Bottoms used to protect and enhance aquatic and terrestrial habitats and ecosystems.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Manage wetlands through the manipulation of water control structures.
- Water Quality Monitoring
- Assisting in prescribed fires
- Herbicide application
- Plant identification
- Removing brush and trees with heavy equipment.
- Participating in field days with other governmental entities and NGO’s – Education and public relations.
- Waterfowl and Deer surveys
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
- Knowledge of tractor and implement operation and skid steer operation
- Experience pulling bumper pull trailers and 5th wheel style trailers,
- Experience with fence repair/construction and general equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of safety rules and procedures.
Education, Training, Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college in a natural resource program preferred.
- 2 years agricultural based experience preferred.
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift, move and carry weights of 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis
- Must be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weather
- Required to bend, stoop, perform above shoulder work and work with arms extended
