What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Grounds Maintenance – North Grounds position at GRDA?
Monday - Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Operate lawn equipment, mowers, weed eaters, trimmers etc.
- Mow and weed eat.
- Plant, prune, and de-weed beds.
- Apply insecticides inside and outside Buildings.
- Recycling duties.
- Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings and training classes.
- Use safety procedures when performing assigned task
- Ability to work at various heights.
Additional duties may include:
- Repair roads and gravel bars, install cement pad and picnic tables.
- Operate heavy equipment such as Man lift, Back-hoe, Dump Truck, Skid Loader with attachments, or other equipment used in the construction, repair, or maintenance of GRDA facilities.
- Apply fertilizer, post emigrants and pre-emigrants.
- Roof Debris Removal.
- Pest Extermination.
- Maintain flower beds, pots and mulching.
- Edging, installation, and maintenance of irrigation.
- Pick up debris and trash removal from parks daily.
- Power wash restrooms in park
- Power wash balconies and decks.
- Man a canoe on river to pick up trash and debris from river.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
- Familiar with tools used in the lawn and park maintenance.
- Knowledge of Safety rules and procedures.
- Organizational and Communicative skills
Education, Training, Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent (or in progress), vocational/trade school a plus.
- Prior grounds care experience a plus.
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to bend, stoop, perform above shoulder work and work with arms extended.
- Must be able to lift, move and carry weights of 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to perform work outdoors in remote areas in all types of weather.
- Must be able to swim.

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Position is located at the Ecosystems and Education Center in Langley, OK.
