We are seeking a full-time Sterile Technician to join the team at our Great Basin Oral and Facial Surgery. This Sterile Technician must be self-motivated to promote a sterile and safe environment. The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within healthcare environments. This position involves the preparation, sterilization, and management of medical instruments and supplies to ensure they are safe for patient use. Responsibilities:
- Instrument cleaning and decontamination
- Properly sort instruments based on sterilization requirements and packaging
- Operate and monitor dental autoclaves
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of sterilization room
- Adhere to all infection control guidelines and regulatory standards set by OSHA and dental practice protocols
- Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies
- Accurately document sterilization procedures and any issues or discrepancies
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in aseptic technique to ensure the highest level of cleanliness.
- OSHA standards for cleaning and sterilization procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to understand the implications of sterilized instruments in patient care.
- Experience in sterile processing, including knowledge of different sterilization methods (e.g., steam, ethylene oxide).
- Strong inventory management skills to track supplies and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following strict protocols for safety and compliance.
