Director of Emergency Services - Emergency Department Leadership
We're seeking an experienced and dynamic healthcare leader to join our organization as Director of Emergency Services. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll oversee one of our hospital's most critical departments, managing a large-scale emergency department while driving operational excellence, quality patient care, and team development.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Emergency Department operations, including strategic planning, quality improvements, and resource management
- Drive performance metrics and patient satisfaction through evidence-based practices and innovative solutions
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency services programs aligned with hospital mission and regulatory requirements
- Manage and mentor a large healthcare team, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of care
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies
- Oversee performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance programs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with interdepartmental teams and stakeholders
- Direct patient experience initiatives and implement best practices in emergency care
- Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of recent director-level experience in a large acute care Emergency Department
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current state RN licensure
- Current certifications in ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and BLS
- Proven track record of improving ED metrics and patient experience
- Strong leadership and organizational development skills
- Experience with regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
- Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN)
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
